No Muslim house is ever empty of dates, and especially leftover dates from the past ramadhan.
You will need:
1) 400g of dates (2 cups and a quarter of pitted dates)
2)150g butter (this turns out to be about one stick and a quarter)
3)150 ml water (3/4 of a cup)
4) a can of sweetened condensed milk
5) 150g flour(1 cup of flour)
6) 1tsp baking soda
7) a pinch of salt
In a pot under medium heat place the dates, water, butter and sweetened condensed milk and let cook. Keep stirring lest it burn or stick to the bottom of the pot. Once the butter is all melted, and the dates start to melt into the mixture–this should take about 6 minutes or so–turn it off and let cool COMPLETELY.
Mix the flour, salt and baking soda. With a hand mixer blend the liquid mixture with the dry mixture until WELL BLENDED.
Place in a well greased bundt pan and place in oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
